I may be new to the mortgage business as a career but it’s not new to me as an industry. My wife and I have owned and operated numerous rental properties as well as personal residences for over 20 years. We have always used a mortgage agent. When we understood their services of providing us the opportunity to look at numerous mortgage options and even back at our own bank, we thought why would someone not use a mortgage agent. We learned mortgage agents work for us but paid by the bank. We learned that their job is to consult us on the various mortgage options and together we decide what’s the best fit for our situation. I have a degree in finance and marketing and it wasn’t uncommon for my colleagues in the education world to consult me on their mortgage situations and options. I’ve been educating young people on their finances for 31 years and managing the largest purchase of anyone’s life is the by far the most important.
